Podcast Conferences You Don't Want to Miss in 2018

Where do you turn to learn more about podcasting? To hone your skills, network with other podcasters, and gain ideas and inspiration for new content for your show? Online networking groups such as the Podcast Discovery Center on Facebook and Podcasters Community on Google+ are a great first step if you’re looking for helpful and insightful tips, ideas, and brainstorming partners from veteran podcasters, but sometimes it’s nice to meet new people, network with others, and dig into various topics in person.

Enter: Podcast conferences and events.

As with any industry, attending and networking at conferences and events is a great way to mingle with like-minded individuals, gain inspiration from people who have been where you are and can help you get where you want to go, as well as grow your network of influencers and mentors (and sometimes even attract new clients).

In this post, we want to share with you some of the best conferences and events to help you expand your network and learn from other experts, industry leaders, and podcasters.

Who knows - you may even find a few perfect guests for your show!

Podfest Multimedia Expo

Started in 2015 and created by Chris Krimitsos, the Podfest Multimedia Expo is a relatively small conference being held in beautiful, sunny Orlando, Florida at the Caribe Royale Resort. According to Chris, the event is expecting upwards of 1,000 attendees in 2018, from “independents, beginners, and changemakers.” Keynote speakers in years past have included the likes of Gary Leland of Fastpitch Radio Network, Trevr Smithlin of AdvertiseCast, Dave Jackson of the School of Podcasting, Chris Curran of The Podcast Engineering Show, as well as other big names in the podcast arena such Elsie Escobar, Jessica Kupferman, and Daniel J. Lewis.

The 2018 event is currently scheduled to take place February 8 through 10. Registration is not open yet, but sign up for their waitlist to stay updated on when registration opens.

Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference

Live in the northeast region of the U.S. and want to attend conferences a little closer to home? Then the Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference is right up your alley! Event founder and coordinator, Joe Pardo (a.k.a Super Joe Pardo) saw the need for a podcast conference in this neck of the woods less than a year after he started the MapCon Facebook group in 2014. The first conference had such an amazing turnout and lineup of speakers, workshops, and events, he has continued to host the conference every year.

Podcasters and past keynote speakers have included Mark Asquith, co-founder of Podcast Websites; Mathew Passy, producer and consultant at The Podcast Consultant; Naketa Thigpen, CEO of ThigPro Balance & Relationship Management Institute and host of the Balance Boldly Podcast (and one of our amazing clients!); and Karen Yankovich, CEO of Uplevel Media.

This year, the Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference is set to take place September 7 and 8 at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro in Swedesboro, New Jersey. Early-bird tickets are insanely affordable right now, but you better grab them fast before the prices go up!

Podcast Movement

Co-founded by the author and host of Starve the Doubts Podcast, Jared Easley, Podcast Movement offers over 120 guest speakers and keynote speakers, pre-conference events and workshops, and dozens of software, hardware, and service providing exhibitors from around the world. Meet and greet other podcasters, learn how to start your own podcast, and dive into some of the latest technology and products available to the podcasting community!

Podcast Movement is widely known as the largest conference and expo for podcasters. Past keynote and guest speakers include the host of the hit podcast Lore, Aaron Mahnke; The Podcast Planner creator, Addy Saucedo; Cliff Ravenscraft (a.k.a. The Podcast Answer Man), host of The Cliff Ravenscraft Show; and even John Lee Dumas, host of EOFire.

In 2017, the event took place in beautiful Anaheim, California - this year, those of us on the eastern side of the country can network and mingle at PM18 at the Philadelphia Marriott, right in downtown Philadelphia!

Early bird tickets are on sale now. Grab your tickets today!
